How Do I Check the Expiration Date of My TikTok Ad Credit?

Every TikTok ad credit has an expiration date. Once that date passes, unused credit is forfeited automatically. TikTok does not send expiration reminders, does not extend deadlines, and does not convert expired credits to any other form of value.

There are two places to check expiration dates inside TikTok Ads Manager, and a separate location for credits tied to new advertiser promotions. Knowing which location to check depends on what type of credit you have.

Primary Method: Valid Dates Column on the Promotions Page

This is the main location for checking credit expiration dates. It shows the expiry for every active ad credit on your account in one list.

  1. Log in to TikTok Ads Manager
  2. Hover over the Tools tab at the top of the screen
  3. Click Payments under the Settings column
  4. Click the Promotions tab on the left

On the Promotions page, click the Available tab. Each row represents one ad credit. Look at the Valid dates column to see the start and end dates of each credit’s usable window.

The Valid dates column shows the full range, for example: “May 1, 2026 to July 31, 2026.” The second date in that range is the expiration date. Any unused credit balance after that date is forfeited.

The Unused amount column shows how much of the credit remains. If this number is greater than zero when the Valid dates window closes, that amount expires.

Second Method: Coupon Progress Details (For New Advertiser Promotions)

If your credit came from TikTok’s new advertiser incentive program (a spend-match offer like “Spend $100, Get $100”), the expiration date for your reward is found in Coupon Progress.

  1. Log in to TikTok Ads Manager
  2. Click the coupon icon (ticket symbol) in the upper-right corner of the dashboard. Note: This icon is not visible on all accounts. If you do not see it, use the Promotions page method above.
  3. Click Details on the coupon card that appears

This opens the Coupon Progress details panel, which shows:

  • Your current qualifying spend amount
  • The reward tier you are working toward
  • The earning window end date (when your qualifying spend window closes)
  • The Expiration date (the deadline by which you must spend any reward credit you earn)

According to TikTok’s incentive program documentation, all ad credits must be used before their expiration date, which you can find specifically under Coupon Progress, Details, Expiration.

These are two separate dates to pay attention to:

  • The earning window end date is the deadline for reaching your qualifying spend threshold
  • The expiration date is the deadline for spending the reward credit after it has been issued

Missing the earning window means you do not earn the credit. Missing the expiration date means you lose credit that was already issued to your account.

Checking Expiration via the Not Available Tab

After a credit expires, it moves from the Available tab to the Not available tab on the Promotions page. Reviewing this tab is useful for auditing credits that have already expired, to confirm whether they were consumed or simply lapsed.

If a credit appears in Not available with a non-zero balance, it expired with unused funds. Those funds cannot be recovered.

How TikTok Sets Expiration Dates

Expiration dates are set by TikTok and noted in the terms accompanying each offer. The general pattern for promotional codes:

  • Credits from new advertiser incentive programs include a specific expiration date (such as May 30, 2026) shown in the coupon details
  • Credits from standard promotional codes normally expire on March 31 of the year following the year in which the promotional offer was activated
  • Credits from partner programs (Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce integrations) carry their own fixed expiration dates stated in the specific program terms

Because expiration dates vary by program and activation timing, always check the Valid dates column for the exact date that applies to your specific credit.

What Happens When a Credit Expires During an Active Campaign

If an ad credit expires while your campaigns are running, TikTok automatically shifts billing to the next available payment source: your cash balance or your linked payment method. Your campaigns do not pause as a result of the credit expiring.

You will not receive a notification when this happens. This means you could move from spending free credits to spending real cash without any alert, unless you are actively monitoring the Promotions page.

Setting Up Your Own Expiration Reminders

TikTok does not have a built-in notification system for ad credit expiration. To avoid losing unused credits, set your own reminders based on the dates you find in the Valid dates column:

  • Check the Promotions page when you first receive any credit, and note the expiration date
  • Set a calendar reminder at least one week before expiration to review your remaining balance
  • If you have unused credit approaching expiration, ensure active campaigns are running so the credit is consumed before the deadline

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the expiration date for new advertiser promotional credits?

For new advertiser incentive credits, go to the coupon icon in the upper-right corner of Ads Manager, click the coupon card, and select Details. The expiration date is listed under the Expiration field in Coupon Progress. If the coupon icon is not visible, go to Tools, Payments, Promotions and check the Valid dates column.

Can TikTok extend my ad credit expiration date?

No. TikTok does not extend expiration dates on ad credits. Once a credit expires, it is forfeited regardless of account activity or remaining balance.

What happens to unused credit when it expires?

Unused credit is forfeited automatically on the expiration date. It does not roll over, convert to cash, or transfer to another credit. The amount moves from the Available tab to the Not available tab on the Promotions page.

Does TikTok notify me before my credit expires?

No. TikTok does not send expiration warnings. You are responsible for tracking expiration dates and planning your spending accordingly.

The coupon icon is not showing on my dashboard. Where else can I find the expiration date?

Go to Tools, Payments (under Settings), then click the Promotions tab. The Available tab shows a Valid dates column with the expiration date for every active credit on your account. The coupon icon is an optional shortcut that is not available to all advertisers.

I have credits in the Not available tab. Does that mean they expired?

Credits in the Not available tab have either expired or been fully consumed. If the balance was still greater than zero when the credit moved to Not available, it expired with unused funds. Fully consumed credits also appear here, with a Used amount matching the original credit value.
